FabFitFun Review: Winter 2020

Cozy Up To The Latest Fab Fit Fun Box [Winter 2020 Review]

A seasonal membership is $49.99 billed quarterly and you are sent a seasonal box for the upcoming season. It is an automatic membership so if you are signed up you will get charged every three months unless you cancel. This is a good option if you are just giving it a test drive or have a fear of commitment. Select Members pay once annually, $179.99 and with that get a slew of perks with their membership. They get to choose their picks first, get more picks, five items, and they get their boxes sent earlier. I love FFF as a pat on the back for a life well lived so this is the membership I have.

This season for some reason I did not get notified about customizations and I was having a problem with my password and trying to change it. If I had called earlier I would have gotten the problem fixed. Everything I got this time was a surprise which was kind of a fun way to do this, but looking forward to my customizations for spring!

Fab Fit Fun’s winter box is loaded with goodies ranging from outside coziness, fun snacks, and for some much needed TLC. My absolute favorite item with this box is the Lucky Brand scarf. I love me some scarves and have a lot, and this one is so classic and goes great with my black puffer jacket. I also received some great under eye gels which always make my tired mom eyes feel so refreshed.

  • BOMSHBEE Sloan Champagne Flutes (set of 4)
  • LOLI Tea Seed Elixir
  • Kate spade New York Rise &Shine Stud Earrings (Set of 2)
  • Mobile White Advanced Teeth Whitening Kit

Stuck With: Mobile White Advanced Teeth Whitening Kit

This is one customization I would not have chosen only because by trade I am a dental hygienist and have lots of whitening products in my bathroom already. This is a low peroxide concentration (16%) and that helps not induce tooth sensitivity. The light is to help activate the carbamide peroxide and convert it to hydrogen peroxide which will lighten the teeth more than without the light. I will say it comes with a very nice set up and lots of solution and I am going to gift this to my sister who was trying to steal my bleach a few weeks ago, so all in all this was a win.

  • Lilly Pulitzer Ceramic Mugs (set of 2)
  • Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet
  • Murad Rapid Collagen Infusion
  • Algae isn’t Complete Eye Renewal Balm
  • Lucky Brand Solid Brushed Scarf
  • Impressions Vanity Company LED Vanity Mirror

I Picked: Lucky Brand Solid Brushed Scarf

This scarf screams cozy. It is ultra soft and oh so warm. The dark charcoal color is very classic making it a perfect scarf for anytime, casual or dressy, and it will keep you warm. It’s not too bulky, which is something I am weird about, but it is big enough that you could use it as a cover if you were going to be in a movie theater, so I know I will be using it a lot after I get that COVID vaccine. Like I mentioned before this is my favorite item from the box and I foresee it getting plenty of loving use over the next few months.

Choice #3

  • ILIA Beauty Limitless Lash Mascara
  • Laura Geller Cinnamon + Spice Eyeshadow Palette
  • Dr. Brant skincare pores no more Pore Purifying CleanseDr. Brant skincare POREDERMABRASION
  • Lele Sadoughi Maroon Velvet Headband

My Choice: Lele Sadoughi Maroon Velvet Headband

This would not have been my choice had I gotten to customize this season, but it is a beautiful headband. I am not normally a headband person, maybe I have a larger than normal cranium but I get headaches and just in general feel uncomfortable in them. I have test driven this one around the house and to the mailbox and so far I haven’t had any problems with it but it isn’t my favorite hair accessory. Now if I had any functions to attend I would build my outfit around this headband because it is so cute so I will be saving it for post COVID life.

  • MUK LUKS Cabin Socks
  • Voir Haircare Rhythm of the Rain Hair Masque and Scalp Detox
  • Flight Mode Skincare High-Altitude Hydration Mask

My Pick: Voir Haircare Rhythm Of The Rain Hair Masque

This masque is such a luxury product. It is silky on your hands and has such a fresh scent that is soft and light. I haven’t had a chance to do a full mask on my hair but so far I really like everything about this product. It is free off all the bad junk like parabens, sulfates, silicone, and phthalates. It is also not tested on animals which is always appreciated in products. I am always looking for a great conditioner or mask especially in the winter months so I am very excited to use this.

Choice # 5

  • Beautaniq Beauty Guardian Angel Revitalising Eye Gels
  • Epare Cutting Board (Set of 4)
  • DpHUE Apple Cider Vinegar Dry Shampoo Powder

My Pick: Beautaniq Beauty Guardian Angel Revitalising Eye Gels

Eye Gels are the best thing that have come out of the last decade at least for a quick fix on my tired skin. Whether I have wine eyes or a lovely swollen face from too much Taco Bell, these little wonder workers bring my eyes back to looking and feeling refreshed. I definitely am happy that these were waiting for me.

FabFitFun Picks

  • Whish Lip Scrub in Vanilla Bean
  • Paradox Lucky Stars Blemish Patches
  • B-Low The Belt Croc Card Case
  • Daily Concepts Daily Facial Dry Brush
  • NOir Jewelry Ombré Leopard Scrunchies
  • Aesthetica Liquid Eyeliner
  • London Town Get Well Nail Recovery
  • Phase Zero Makeup Making Moves Blusher

I Got: Whish Lip Scrub in Vanilla Bean

I had mixed feelings when I saw I received this because while I love exfoliating my lips, I make a brown sugar face scrub at home that I like so I felt it was a wasted item. Then I tried it and holy moly. It goes on like a creamy lip balm with just a small amount of abrasive in the mix. It isn’t aggressive or overpowering and didn’t cause any discomfort on cracked areas, unlike my homemade brown sugar variety. I really love this and will be ordering more when I am out.

I Got: nOir Jewelry Ombré Leopard Scrunchies.

I love scrunchies, and every time I wear one I think about Sex In The City and how Carries bf was so offended by her schooling him on how “out” scrunchies were. Oh the 2000’s. Now that scrunchies are back I have quite the array of styles to upgrade my mom bun to suburban chic. The prints are very on trend and will go with all the winter colors that are in style this year. The material is soft and doesn’t snag on hair (hello sequin scrunchies) and you get a nice elastic that is friendly from thin hair to thick. I can go around a bun about two times and it is snug enough for jumping around without falling out.

I Got: Phase Zero Makeup Making Moves Blusher

I am really liking this blush. I am normally a Too Faced gal, but so far I am enjoying this color. It goes on very smooth and even, there is no overpowering scent, and there is just a hint of a shimmer. I was nervous about the color because it looks a bit orange, but I think I look like I have been warmed up by a nice fire when I am wearing it. I have super sensitive skin to colors but so far so good.

Final Thoughts

Even though I didn’t get to customize my box, overall I am happy with what I received. I can’t express how nice it is to have a little something to look forward too every few months, especially with how the last 8 months have been going. FFF brought things that are a must in the winter and in general are just a delight to have. While you are cyber Christmas shopping make sure to get yourself a subscription or ask a loved one to gift you one. This also makes a great gift for a mom, sister or best friend because they will be reminded how much you love them all year long.
